Being one of the earliest adopters of EcoVadis Certification within IMCD worldwide, Spain gets Platinum in 2023, in a fiercely competitive environment.
IMCD Spain has long embraced the EcoVadis initiative, positioning itself as one of the earliest adopters not only within our Country but also in IMCD Worldwide. Having achieved consistent top ratings since the first year of participation, IMCD Spain set its sights on reaching the Platinum in 2023. And we’ve got it!
«It is a big pride to see IMCD Spain being now rewarded with the Platinum score, positioning us on the Top 1% of Sustainable Organizations in a country where competition on this topic becomes fiercer!» JOSE ALCOVER (Managing Director IMCD Iberia & Maghreb)
In 2022, the threshold for platinum required 75 points, and IMCD Spain came agonizingly close with a score of 74. Undeterred, our local organization embarked on a determined journey to attain Platinum, knowing that it would not require 1 point but a minimum of 5 in already-hard-to-achieve improvement. This year the benchmark has been set in 78 points for Platinum and IMCD Spain not only has met it but has exceeded by achieving an impressive score of 82 points.
How? Through the establishment of a Dedicated Team, IMCD Spain reviewed and compiled existing best practices, and propelled the implementation of new initiatives aligned with EcoVadis' improvement guidelines.
Continuous improvement towards Platinum
«EcoVadis sets high standards for sustainability, demanding continuous improvement, with only 1% of companies able to achieve the platinum rating. Getting a higher rate from one year to the next takes titanic efforts on improvement. Attaining the Platinum rating, IMCD Spain becomes part of the very exclusive group of companies applying exceptional dedication to sustainable practices» JACOBO LÓPEZ-RIOBÓO (Operations Manager IMCD Iberia & Maghreb)
«The Platinum medal not only recognizes the Company's achievements but also serves as an inspiration for peers in the industry. IMCD Spain sets now a new benchmark for sustainability, becoming a shining example of how organizations can make a positive impact to the environment, surrounding society, and the Company’s employees while at the company and outside it in their personal lives.» VERÓNICA ALAIZA (RRHH IMCD Iberia)
Looking ahead
With the Platinum rating secured, IMCD Spain must maintain its commitment to continuous improvement. EcoVadis will continue to challenge our Organisation to raise the bar and consistently enhance our sustainability efforts. IMCD Spain is now a guiding light for other companies. We’re conscious of our responsibility being on the spotlight but… who said fear?
Platinum status means IMCD Spain is Top 1% of sustainable companies, and we’ll proudly defend our position with all required efforts!
